LEADERS-IN-TRAINING
Leaders-in-Training (LITs) are experienced campers who are active in their church, love God, like working with kids, and want to work at camp in the future. The Leader-in-Training experience equips older high school students to be leaders at camp, in their home congregations, and in their communities. Leaders-in-Training learn all aspects of camp life and have fun doing it. They have their own community activities, devotions, and time away. Many will go on to become summer camp staff members.
Important Changes for 2022: Beginning in Summer 2022, the LIT Program will be a 2-week intensive leadership experience. During Week 1, LITs will take a deep dive into leadership development, team-building, and learning all about Being A Camp Counselor 101. All of this learning will be coupled with classic camp activities, like swimming, high ropes, and arts and crafts, and some activities designed specially for the LITs. During Week 2, LITs put what they learned into action around camp — pairing up with cabins for Bible Study and devotions, helping co-lead activities, leading a worship service, and even trying their hand in the kitchen.
Spaces in this once-in-a-lifetime, faith-based leadership development experience are limited. LITs must be at least 16 years old by July 1, 2022 and have finished 11th grade. Applications are due by May 15, 2022.
Once accepted, the Program Director will instruct you and your guardian on how to register for the program.
